Week one of the One Room Challenge starts now and I couldn’t be more excited to get to work on our master bedroom and finally have a serene, relaxing space!
In short our master bedroom is barely furnished with minimal hand me down furniture but in six short weeks at the end of this challenge the goal is to have a Luxe Parisian inspired bedroom. Think tons of decorative moldings, crisp white walls, modern accents and more!
A little about our home: A hundred year old lake home in Northern New Jersey filled with classic charm and quirky elements only found in old homes *insert pink floor to ceiling master bathroom tile*. Slowly over the last year I have diy’d my way through most rooms in the house between painting, custom trim work; the list goes on! The goal was to turn our home into a space that was modern with classic inspiration reminiscent of Parisian interiors (my personal fave!), all the while working with a super small budget. Slowly but surely we are getting there and now its time to tackle the bedroom.
Here is space right before we moved in and the only update from then to now was a new bed and old furniture so its pretty much a blank slate.
Now to the good stuff – the design concept!
The overall goal is what I like to call “Luxe Parisian”. My hope is that the space will feel modern with classic touches and be a space that we actually want to spend time in.
Over the next six weeks all these details need to happen to bring this concept to life:
At the end of week one the goal is to have all the decorative molding installed and caulked so painting can begin, so its time to get moving!
I am beyond excited to be a part of this challenge for the first time along with many other talented designers making over spaces in there homes so be sure to check those our here.
See you next week for another update!
